Nagkomento si Vice President Sara Duterte, hinggil sa umano'y nilulutong panibagong impeachment laban sa kaniya sa House of Representatives.
Sa inilabas na pahayag nitong Disyembre 8, sinabi ng Pangalawang Pangulo na hindi na siya nagugulat sa anunsyo ng ilang kongresista, at iginiit na ang oras ng mga hakbang na ito ay nagpapakita ng isang “pattern” na aniya’y matagal na niyang napapansin.
“The latest pronouncement by some members of the House of Representatives on a new impeachment complaint is not surprising. Its timing reveals a pattern that has become all too familiar,” ani Duterte.
Binigyang-diin niya ang mga naunang pahayag nina Sen. Chiz Escudero, Rep. Toby Tiangco, at iba pang miyembro ng Kamara na noong Pebrero 2024 ay may nilapitan umano para mangalap ng pirma kapalit ng alokasyon sa budget.

“Their statements have unmasked the truth that the impeachment complaint against me was never really driven by principle but by price,” sabi niya.
Sa kabila nito, binalikan ni Duterte na walang isinagawang imbestigasyon upang panagutin ang sinuman sa umano’y pagwaldas ng bilyon-bilyong piso para sa “political warfare.”
“Despite such revelations, no inquiry or investigation was conducted to hold anyone accountable for the billions of pesos that were squandered on political warfare when they should have been used to serve the Filipino people,” aniya.
Binuweltahan din ni VP Sara ang umano’y paggamit muli ng impeachment bilang “bargaining chip” sa harap ng nalalapit na pag-apruba ng 2026 National Budget.
“Now, this constitutional mechanism is being dangled once again as a bargaining chip right before the 2026 National Budget is passed,” wika niya.
Binalaan din niya ang mga opisyal na umano’y patuloy na ginagamit ang proseso ng impeachment habang nagkukunwaring adbokasiya ng mabuting pamamahala.
“To those who continue to exploit the impeachment process, stop hiding behind the language of ‘good governance,’” ani Duterte.
Sinabi rin niya na handa siyang sagutin ang anumang alegasyong nakabatay sa katotohanan ngunit hindi na raw siya maaaring manahimik laban sa isang proseso na “twisted into a budget-driven racket.”
“I have always stood ready to answer any allegation grounded in fact and truth. But I cannot remain silent while the impeachment process is being twisted into a budget-driven racket.”
“Filipinos deserve better,” pagtatapos ni Duterte sa kaniyang pahayag.
