Nagpaliwanag sa publiko si dating Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Rogelio Singson sa dahilan ng kaniyang pagbibitiw sa puwesto bilang miyembro ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Ayon sa naging pahayag ni Singson sa nitong Huwebes, Disyembre 4, sinabi niyang mabigat na trabaho ang pag-aaral ng lahat ng mga aplikableng batas kaugnay sa mga pag-uusapan sa bawat pagdinig ng ICI.
“I thought it was going to be commission work which means when there are hearings, you’re here. But that is not the case. Because as an engineer. I have to study all the applicable laws that are related to ICI hearings,” pagsisimula niya.
Ani Singson, hindi na rin daw kaya ng 77 niyang edad ang stress mula sa paggampan ng tungkulin sa Komisyon.

“Because of the stress, my 77 year old body cannot take it anymore. That’s the other half of the situation,” aniya.
Paliwanag pa niya, “I've been in and out of the hospitals. I just came from my medical work out this early so alam n’yo na kapag nag-medical work out ka, dieta ka ng 10 hours. Maaga kang magigising, blood extraction.”
Unang beses daw ito sa buhay niya na sumailalim sa medical maintenance para sa kaniyang puso, mataas na presyon ng dugo, at iba pa.
“This is the first time in my life that I’ve been asked to take maintenance medication for my heart, high BP, high cholesterol… Everything is a red flag in my body,” paglilinaw niya.
Humingi rin ng konsiderasyon si Singson sa publiko para sa dahilan niya sa pagbibitiw sa puwesto sa ICi.
“Please try to understand that I don’t want to serve. It is just that my body and also the stress on my family, we are not used to this heavy stress including heavy security for the family safety,” ‘ika niya.
“I hope and I wish the people will understand the reason for my resignation. I feel that I’ve done what I have to do for ICI but I have to also answer the needs of my family concerns and my own personal life,” pagtatapos pa ni Singson.
Matatandaang nauna nang kumpirmahin ni ICI chairperson Andres Reyes, Jr. ang resignation ni Singson nito roong Miyerkules, Disyembre 3 dahil sa umano’y “stressful work” sa komisyon.
