Magbibigay ng $1 milyong immediate life-saving assistance ang United States (US) Government bilang karagdagang suporta ng Pilipinas sa mga biktima ng bagyong “Tino” sa mga rehiyon ng Visayas at Mindanao. 

Ayon sa pahayag ng US State Department, ang donasyon ay layong suportahan ang gobyerno ng bansa sa pamamahagi ng mga emergency shelter, logistics service, at malinis na tubig sa mga lugar na nasalanta ng bagyo, maging ang mga probinsyang bumabangon pa mula sa mga nagdaang bagyo, at ang Cebu mula sa pagyanig ng magnitude 6.9 na lindol noong Setyembre. 

“In the wake of Typhoon Kalmaegi’s (Tino’s) devastation, the United States is augmenting the Philippine-led response efforts. Through the delivery of emergency shelter, logistics services, and safe water and sanitation, the United States is supporting communities hardest hit by the storm, many of which are still recovering from successive storms and the Cebu Earthquake in September,” saad ng US State Department. 

“The United States is committed to supporting Philippine-led efforts, working together to save lives, alleviate suffering, and help communities recover from these disasters. To this end, the United States will provide $1 million in immediate life-saving assistance,” dagdag pa rito.

Bilang paghahanda naman sa inaasahang pagdating ng bagyong “Uwan,” kasalukuyang nakikipag-ugnayan ang US disaster assistance sa gobyerno ng bansa at mga lokal na organisasyon dito para sa karagdagang relief assistance. 

“With another severe storm forecast to impact the Philippines in the coming days, U.S. disaster assistance will remain closely coordinated with the Government of the Philippines and local organizations to ensure timely and effective relief for those most in need,” pagtitiyak ng US State Department.
