Kinuwestiyon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang Facebook post ni Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga at tinawag itong malisyoso at walang katotohanan.

Ayon sa naturang post, nagbanta umano si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na tatanggalin ang pensyon ng mga sundalo dahil sa umano’y banta ng sedisyon o planong pag-aaklas—bagay na pinabulaanan ng AFP.

“This claim is baseless, malicious, and intended to mislead. The AFP categorically states that there is no such directive, statement, or policy from the President or any government agency,” saad ng AFP.

Nilinaw ng AFP na walang ganitong kautusan o pahayag mula sa Pangulo. Dagdag pa ng ahensya, hindi maaaring basta-basta alisin ang pensyon ng mga retiradong miyembro ng militar dahil ito ay nakasaad sa batas at maaari lamang ipawalang-bisa kung sila ay mapapatunayang nagkasala sa kasong kriminal.

“In the contrary, the administration has consistently expressed its fullest support for our men and women in uniform, including the protection and sustainability of their pension and benefits,” anang AFP.

Paglilinaw pa nila, “Please note that the pension of a retired military personnel is protected under existing laws.”

Samantala, nag-iwan din ng mensahe ang AFP laban ka Barzaga.

Anila, “We respectfully call on Congressman Barzaga to refrain from spreading positions of leadership—to act with prudence, accuracy and integrity when sharing information that undermines public confidence and the morale of the very men and women who defend our Republic.
