Sinagot ni Deputy Speaker Ronaldo Puno ang mga naging pahayag ni Cavite 4th district Rep. Kiko Barzaga hinggil sa kinahaharap niyang ethics complaint sa Kamara.

Sa panayam ng media kay Puno, nilinaw niyang naghain siya ng nasabing ethics complaint laban kay Barzaga para umano sa isang “standard behavior” sa House of Representatives.

“We filed an ethics complaint because we want a standard of behavior established in Congress,” ani Puno.

Binanatan din niya ang naunang pahayag ni Barzaga kung saan iginiit nitong wala umano siyang nakikitang mali sa kaniyang mga ginagawa.

“We should remind him of standard human behavior. He does not believe he did anything wrong because obviously his standards are much lower than the average person,” anang House Deputy Speaker.

Mariin ding iginiit ni Puno na ang pag-uugali daw ni Barzaga ay hindi katanggap-katanggap bilang isang mambabatas.

Aniya, “I think maybe he should be given a lesson by the Ethics Committee. That kind is not desirable, it is not acceptable especially if you're a member of the House of Representatives.”

Matatandanag noong Setyembre nang maghain sinan Puno ng ethics complaint laban kay Barzaga, matapos ang magkakasunod niyang tirada sa social media laban kay dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez at administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

“I want that very clear, hindi namin hinahabol si Representative Barzaga, even the Speaker does not want us to do what we are proposing to do,” saad ni Puno sa press conference noong Setyembre 15, 2025.

Dagdag pa niya, “But we are going to do this because we feel responsible for what has happened dahil nga miyembro ng partido namin ‘yan, I signed a certificate for nomination and acceptance for him, and we want him to be held to account for this.”

Samantala, nilinaw naman ni Barzaga sa kaniyang pahayag nitong Lunes na nakahanda raw siya sa kahit na ano, magmula raw ng kalabanin niya si Romualdez.

“I'm ready for anything. When it all started, when I fought against Romualdez, I was fully expecting to die, but kung sanctions lang naman edi that's much better than dying,” saad ni Barzaga.
