Nagbigay ng pahayag si Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan kaugnay sa pagtanggi niya sa posisyon bilang Chairperson ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
Ayon sa ibinahaging post ni Pangilinan sa kaniyang Facebook noong Oktubre 7, 2025, sinabi niyang personal umano siyang natanong kung gugustuhin niyang pumalit kay Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson bilang bagong chairman sa nasabing Komite.

“I was asked by the Senate media this morning if I would be willing to take over as Chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee,” panimula ni Pangilinan sa kaniyang post.

Pahabol pa niya, “[m]y answer was that I was still hoping Sen. Ping would change his mind but it is clear now that it is not to be. I respect his decision.”
Pagpapatuloy ni Pangilinan, kasalukuyan na umano siyang may hawak na tatlong Komite sa Senado at hindi na umano magiging matalino ang pagpili sa pang-apat na Komite.
“I must say, however, that considering that I now sit as Chairman of 3 Senate Committees: Agriculture, Food, and Agrarian Reform; Justice and Human Rights; and Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes,” anang senador.
“[I]t would be unwise to accept a fourth committee, more so the powerful Blue Ribbon Committee. I have championed the country’s food security and agriculture sector for the last 15 years,” dagdag pa niya.
Nilinaw rin ni Pangilinan na mas gusto umano niyang tutukan ang sektor ng agrikultura.
“I believe it is in helping address the serious and dire challenges of the agri sector that I can best serve our country with my utmost,” pagtatapos pa niya.
Matatandaang isa si Pangilinan sa mga nabanggit ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III sa pinagpipilian umano nila na papalit kay Sen. Lacson upang susunod na mamamahala sa Blue Ribbon Committee.
