Tila malapit nang maramdaman ang malamig na temperatura sa bansa dahil idineklara na ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) ang pagtatapos ng Southwest Monsoon o Habagat season.

"Recent observations indicate that the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) has been weakening during the past few weeks. Moreover, a gradual change of the country’s weather pattern has been observed due to the strengthening of the high-pressure system over East Asia and the southward migration of the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ). Forecast models also show this trend in the coming days," saad ng PAGASA.

Ayon pa sa weather bureau, ito na rin ang hudyat ng pagsisimula ng Northeast Monsoon o Amihan season, sa susunod na mga linggo. 

"With these developments, the Habagat season has officially ended. Likewise, this marks the termination of the rainy season over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas. The country is now transitioning to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) season, which will be observed and declared in the coming weeks."

Ang Amihan ay karaniwang naghahatid ng mas malamig na temperatura at hindi gaanong mahalumigmig na mga kondisyon, partikular sa hilaga at silangang bahagi ng Pilipinas.

Nagsisimula kadalaan ang Amihan season sa pagtatapos ng Oktubre o pagsisimula ng Nobyembre at nagtatapos hanggang Marso.
