Naglabas ng pahayag ang aktres at Quezon City Councilor na si Aiko Melendez kaugnay sa paghihiwalay nila ng kaniyang karelasyon sa loob ng halos walong (8) taon na si Zambales Rep. Jay Khonghun.
Kinumpirma ito mismo ng aktres ayon sa ibinahagi niyang post sa kaniyang Facebook nitong Biyernes, Oktubre 3, 2025.

‘Totoo na!’ Kiray Celis, kinasal na!
Pagpapatuloy pa ni Aiko, maingat umano nilang pinag-isipan ang opisyal na paghihiwalay nila ni Khonghun.
“After four months of reflection and careful consideration, Congressman Jay Khonghun and I, Councilor Aiko Mendez, have mutually decided to part ways and go our separate directions,” saad ni Aiko.
“This decision was not made lightly but comes from a place of respect and understanding of what is best for both of us at this time,” dagdag pa niya.
Nilinaw naman ni Aiko na wala umanong namagitan na “third party” sa dahilan ng kanilang paghihiwalay.
“We want to make it clear that no third party was involved in this decision,” anang Aiko.
Ani ni Aiko, mananatili umano silang magpapasalamat sa mga alaalang pinagsaluhan nilang dalawa.
“We remain grateful for the memories we shared and for the support many of you have shown throughout our journey together. Our focus now is to move forward with grace,” ani ni Aiko.
Dagdag pa niya, ipagpapatuloy pa rin nila ang pagseserbisyo nang may respeto, kabaitan, at dedikasyon para sa kanilang mga kababayan.
“He and his continued public service, and I in mine, always guided by the values of respect, kindness, and dedication to the people we serve,” pagbabahagi niya.
Hiniling naman ni Aiko na maunawaan daw sana ng mga tagasuporta niya ang naging hiwalayan nilang dalawa.
“We ask for your understanding and privacy as we go through this transition. Thank you for your support and prayers,” pagtatapos pa niya.
