Ipinagpapasalamat ni Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Partylist Rep. Atty Leila de Lima ang ikatlong beses na siya ay naabswelto sa mga kasong isinampa sa kaniya na may kaugnayan sa ilegal na droga.

Ibinahagi ni De Lima sa kaniyang Facebook post nitong Miyerkules, Oktubre 1, na tinatanggap at ipinagpapasalamat niya ang desisyon ng Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 204 na siya ay tuluyan nang i-abswelto.

“As the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 204 granted the DOJ Panel of Prosecutors’ motion to withdraw its motion seeking to reconsider my second acquittal in the same illegal drug case, it is now deemed closed and terminated—for the third time,” ani De Lima.

“The first acquittal was in May 2023. This was followed by my second acquittal in the same case last June, when the Court reaffirmed its decision after the Court of Appeals 8th Division remanded the case. And now with the granting of the withdrawal of the motion for reconsideration filed by the state prosecutors. We welcome this development and thank Judge Abraham Joseph Alcantara for once again upholding justice and the rule of law,” dagdag pa niya.

Aniya pa, hindi pa rin natatapos ang laban para sa hustisya at pananagutan, kahit na ang apelang baligtarin siya ay nabawi na. Tinatawag niya rin si Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla na magkaroon ng mabilis na aksyon hinggil sa ipinasa niyang “letter-complaint” noong Agosto 14.

“Nabawi man ang apela para baligtarin pa ang pagbasura sa bogus na kaso laban sa akin, hindi natatapos ang laban natin para sa hustisya at pananagutan,” aniya.

“I am calling on Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla to take swift action regarding my letter-complaint submitted last August 14, requesting an administrative investigation against the members of the DOJ Panel who handled my three trumped-up drug cases, for grave misconduct and gross ignorance of the law,” dagdag pa niya.

Nanindigan din ang kongresista na hindi dapat palampasin ang umano’y pambabaluktot at paniniil sa sistema.

“There must be reckoning. Hindi natin palalampasin ang ginawa nilang paniniil at pambabaluktot sa ating sistemang pangkatarungan. Managot ang dapat managot,” anang kongresista.

Matatandaang tuluyan nang inabswelto ng Muntinlupa RTC si De Lima matapos nitong ilabas ang order hinggil sa pagwi-withdraw ng prosecution sa kanilang “Motion for Reconsideration” noong Martes, Setyembre 30.

“WHEREFORE, premises considered, the Motion to Withdraw (Motion for Reconsideration dated 14 July 2025) filed by the prosecution is GRANTED. With the withdrawal of the motion for reconsideration, this case is hereby deemed CLOSED and TERMINATED,” nasasaad sa order.
