Nagpahayag ng pagsuporta ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) sa planong ilipat sa education sector ang iba pang pondong laan dapat sa flood control projects.

Sa kaniyang pahayag nitong Lunes, Setyembre 29, 2025, iginiit ni DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman na kaiisa umano ang kanilang ahensya sa pahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., na i-reallocate ang tinatayang ₱255.5 bilyong pondo ng flood control projects patungo sa iba pang priority programs ng gobyerno.

"Few days ago, the President mentioned the reallocation of the DPWH funds for priority programs and kasama po sa pupuntahan n'yan ang education sector," ani Pangandaman.

Dagdag pa ng kalihim ng DBM, "We stand with this realignment, and we will make sure it is implemented properly so that our students, teachers, and SUCs receive the support they deserve."

Hiniling din ni Pangandaman na mapakinggan daw sana ng Kamara ang naturang plano sa pagbabago ng alokasyon ng nasabing pondo.

"It is our hope that Congress will heed this call and put more resources they matter most in preparing our youth for the future," saad ni Pangandaman.

Ayon sa Presidential Communication Office (PCO), ang kabuuan ng budget reallocation ay mapupunta sa Department of Education (DepEd) na may ilalaang ₱26.55 bilyon at ₱9.3 bilyon naman para sa Commission on Higher Education (CHED). 

Kaugnay ng realokasyon mula sa pondo ng flood control projects, kamakailan lang nang imungkahi rin ni PBBM na ibahagi raw ang ₱36 bilyong budget ng nasabing proyekto patungo naman sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

“Mga kababayan, ikinalulugod kong ibahagi sa inyo na halos ₱36 bilyon na pondo galing sa DPWH na nakuha natin sa flood control project, itong halagang ito ay ilalaan natin sa mga programa ng DSWD,” ani PBBM.

Kabilang sa mga programang plano ring pondohan ng naturang budget ay ang Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) at Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), at iba pa.
