Inanunsyo ng Malacañang nitong Lunes, Setyembre 29 ang pagkakatalaga kay dating PNP Chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr., bilang bagong Special Adviser at Investigator ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
“The Office of the President announces the appointment of former Philippine National Police Chief, General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. (Ret.), as Special Adviser and Investigator of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI). He will assume his duties after concluding his personal and administrative arrangements,” saad dito.
Ibinahagi rin dito na lubos ang kumpyansa ng gobyerno na matagumpay na magagampanan ni Azurin ang mandato ng komisyon na mapagtibay ang pananagutan sa paggamit ng pondo ng bayan.
“The administration is confident that General Azurin's experience and leadership will further strengthen the Commission's mandate to uphold accountability and transparency in the use of public funds,” dagdag pa rito.
Nagbahagi rin ng pasasalamat ang Palasyo sa naging serbisyo at kontribusyon ni Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong sa kaniyang pag-upo sa ICI kamakailan.
“The President thanks Mayor Benjamin Magalong for his service and contributions during his tenure. His efforts in safeguarding the integrity and credibility of the Commission have been vital to the government's campaign against corruption in infrastructure projects,” anang Palasyo.
Sa kaugnay na balita, matatandaang opisyal na nagbitiw si Magalong sa ICI noong Biyernes, Setyembre 26.
