Naglabas na ng pahayag si Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong kaugnay sa pagbibitiw niya bilang Special Adviser ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Ayon sa isinapublikong pahayag ni Magalong sa kaniyang Facebook nitong Sabado, Setyembre 27, 2025, sinabi niyang hindi umano naging madali para sa kaniya ang pagbibitiw sa nasabing puwesto sa ICI.
“Effective September 26, 2025, I have decided to resign from the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI). This was not an easy choice, but one I believe is necessary,” panimula ni Magalong.
Nilinaw ni Magalong na wala umanong “conflict of interest” na nangyari sa kaniyang puwesto kaya siya nagbitiw.

“Once and for all, I would like to make it clear that there is no conflict of interest in my role. My work as Mayor of Baguio and my service with the ICI have always been guided by one principle: the highest standards of integrity in public service,” anang Magalong.
Dagdag pa niya, “[h]owever, recent developments have cast doubt on the independence of the Commission. Independence is the bedrock of accountability, and without it, our credibility is compromised[...]”
Aniya, mananatiling matatag ang kaniyang paninindigan para sa katotohanan at hustisya sa loob at labas ICI.
“My commitment to truth and justice remain steadfast. Whether within or outside the ICI, I will continue this crusade against corruption with the same resolve I have carried in every battle I have faced[...]” paninindigan ni Magalong.
Pagpapatuloy pa ni Magalong, hindi raw umano dapat pamayagan ang mga “korap na lider” sa pulitika na nagnanakaw para sa kinabukasan ng kabataan at ng bansa.
“We should never allow corrupt political leaders and bureaucrats to steal the future of our children, and most importantly, the future of our country. Every peso stolen from the people is not just an act of theft. It is a school left unfinished, a hospital without medicine, a bridge that collapses, and a nation's hopes betrayed[...]” pagdidiin ni Magalong.
Nagbigay rin ng mensahe si Magalong para sa taumbayan.
Aniya, “[t]o my fellow Filipinos: I ask for your vigilance, your courage, and your sense of nationalism. We cannot allow corruption to define our future. We must stand together for transparency, accountability, and good governance for our country, and for the future generations of Filipinos[...]”
“The power of the people will always be stronger than the power of the few. The crusade against corruption continues,” pagtatapos ni Magalong.

Sa kaniyang liham sa Pangulo, sinabi niyang pinalamya umano ng mga pahayag ng Palasyo ang tungkulin at mandatong ipinagkatiwala sa kaniya.
“The Palace's pronouncements concerning my designation, which run contrary to the terms of my appointment, have undermined the role and mandate entrusted to me,” saad ni Magalong.
Dagdag pa ni Magalong, ”Combined with circumstances that already cast doubt on the independence of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure, it has become clear that my continued service is no longer tenable.”
