“I’ve been in DTI for one year, and maybe in the previous leader, the thrust was not the creative industry. But for now, for my term, the thrust is the creative industry, because I feel that the creative industry is where we excel. So we must push this because in others, in digitalization, and all other industries, we’re not on top,” anila.

“But for the creative industry, I feel that we can use this as a driver for trade and tourism, the same way Korea’s done it, and other countries have done it. So it’s just a matter of priority that’s why maybe it was given a budget before and then it kept getting less and less and less because that was not the push during that leadership,” dagdag pa nila.

“For the Malikhaing Pinoy, we’re pushing it… It’s very [important] we’re promoting of course the usual weavers and stuff, but we’re also in the digital landscape, so they also see na kahit papaano we’re already globally relevant,” anila.

“We can also adapt to the global world. Our artists are known, our painters, our fashion designers, our anime artists, our game designers are really known already worldwide, so we feel that this is a way for us to really get our country out there,” dagdag pa nila.

“If you’d like to collaborate on projects like that, please do not hesitate to let me know, ma’am. I know couple of my colleagues are interested in supporting the creative economy as well here,” ani Recto.
