Nagbigay ng pahayag si Senador Kiko Pangilinan kaugnay sa posisyon niya sa impeachment trial laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa X post ni Pangilinan noong Biyernes, Hulyo 18, iginiit niyang suportado niya ang pagpapatuloy ng paglilitis laban sa bise presidente.
“Let me reiterate my position: I support the continuation of the impeachment proceedings,” saad ni Pangilinan.
Dagdag pa niya, “The Constitution is clear: once the articles of impeachment are transmitted to the Senate, the trial shall forthwith proceed. There must be no undue delay.”

Ayon kay Pangilinan, nakaatang umano sa kanila bilang mga senador na maupo bilang hukom at siguraduhin na gugulong ang paglilitis nang patas, agaran, at may integridad.
“Under our Constitution, the Senate is not only a legislative body—it is a court of impeachment. And we are duty bound to uphold and defend the Constitution,” dugtong pa niya.
Matatandaang Pebrero 5 nang tuluyang na-impeach sa Kamara si Duterte matapos ang pagpirma ng tinatayang 215 mga mambabatas sa ikaapat na impeachment complaint laban sa kaniya.
