Buo ang suporta ng dating director general ng Philippine Information Agency (PIA) na si Ramon "Mon" Cualoping III sa kandidatura ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte bilang alkalde ng Davao City, kalaban ng kaniyang kaibigang si dating Civil Service Commission (CSC) chair Karlo Alexie Nograles.
Sa Facebook post ni Cualoping noong Sabado, Abril 5, sinabi niyang kaibigan niya si Nograles at pinuri pa ang galing at mga natamo nitong achievement noong pareho pa silang nagseserbisyo sa ilalim ng administrasyon ng dating pangulo, subalit ang suporta at boto niya ay para kay Duterte pa rin. Agad na siyang humingi ng tawad kay Nograles.
