Nagluksa si dating Vice President Leni Robredo sa pagpanaw ni Albay 1st district Rep. Edcel Lagman na naging tagapayo raw niya noong nanunungkulan pa siya bilang bise presidente ng bansa.
Nitong Huwebes, Enero 30, nang pumanaw si Lagman sa edad na 82 dahil daw sa cardiac arrest.

“Mourning the death of Cong Edcel Lagman. Much has been said about his admirable work as a public servant and how courageously he stood for his principles,” pahayag ni Robredo sa isang Facebook post nitong Biyernes, Enero 31.

Ani Robredo, hinihingian niya ng payo si Lagman nang nanumungkulan siya bilang bise presidente ng bansa mula 2016 hanggang 2022.
“My fondness for him was very personal. When I was Vice President, I sought him for political advice.
“His wisdom, borne from his years as an outstanding public servant, always helped me gain clarity,” saad ni Robredo.
“My frequent visits to his Quezon City home were all memorable because their family serves the best food and I would go home with a week’s worth of baon and a cache of valuable fatherly counsel.
“Bicol lost a great son. He will be terribly missed,” dagdag pa niya.
Kilala si Lagman sa pagsusulong ng reproductive health law at pagtataguyod ng mga panukalang batas ukol sa human rights at gender equality. Kasama rin siya sa mga pangunahing may-akda ng Absolute Divorce Bill.
