Fil-Am muppet sa Sesame Street, pinusuan: 'Representation for all kids matters!'

Muling ipinakilala ng Sesame Workshop ang kauna-unahang Fil-Am muppet sa sikat na educational show na Sesame Street.

Sa pamamagitan ng Facebook post kamakailan, ipinakilala ng Sesame workshop ang Fil-Am muppet na si TJ bilang isa raw “proud kuya.”

“Meet TJ! TJ is a second generation Filipino-American boy, and a proud kuya (older brother) to his baby sister,” anang Sesame Workshop.

Saad pa nito, marunong din mag-tagalog si TJ, na natutunan daw niya mula sa kaniyang mga lolo at lola at siyang ibinibida raw niya sa California.

“He's learning to speak Tagalog with his grandparents, and he is so proud when he gets to put it to use when his family comes to visit from California, where his parents are from. He loves it when they all get together so he can help his mom make lumpia with all the veggies he picked, and so he can play basketball and have a dance off with his cousins,” saad ng Sesame Workshop.

Si TJ ay nauna nang ipinakilala ng Sesame Workshop noong 2023 na siyang nilikha ng isa pang Fil-Am animator na si Bobby Pontillas.

Agad namang pinusuan ng netizens ang naturang larawan ni TJ na nagpapahayag umano ng “inclusivity at representation.”

“Sesame Street definitely is variating on different cultures over the years.”
