Dumipensa si Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile sa kaniyang naunang pahayag hinggil sa ikinasang National Rally for Peace ng Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) noong Enero 13, 2025.
Sa pamamagitan ng Facebook post nitong Linggo, Enero 19, 2025, nilinaw ni Enrile ang kaniya raw pinupunto sa kaniyang naunang pahayag.
“So many people, especially members of the INC, were so riled and angry at me for the post I made recently about the INC peace rally. I would like to explain why I made that post,” ani Enrile.
Giit niya, wala raw siyang problema sa INC at kinikilala umano niya ang karapatan ng religious sector sa pagpapahayag ng kani-kanilang saloobin.

“I am not against the INC. I am fully aware that in this country, everyone, religious or not, is entitled to exercise the right of the people to peaceably assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances,” saad ni Enrile.
Dagdag pa niya: “There is no question that the INC peace rally was a peaceful assembly. But were there "GRIEVANCES" to be redressed? Pardon me for my impression--to me,there was none.”
Tinawag din ni Enrile na pawang “political pressure,” lamang daw ang naturang peace rally ng INC.
“To me, although it was well-intention, the peace rally was more like a political pressure to hinder a separate and independent department of the government to perform a constitutional duty. This was evident from the speeches delivered in that rally,” giit ni Enrile.
Matatandaang kinuwestiyon ni Enrile ang naging kilos-protesta ng INC hinggil sa umano’y panawagan daw nilang pagkakaisa ng pamahalaan sa kabila ng impeachment cases laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Muli ring ipinaalala ni Enrile na wala raw ibang makakagawa na mapagkaisa ang bansa at sangay ng gobyerno kundi si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. lamang daw, bilang Chief Executive.
“On the other hand, the President, as the duly elected Chief Executive of the land, and one of the three independent and separate branches of our government, has the power and duty to COORDINATE with the two other branches of our government to achieve and maintain a unity and harmony in the efficient operation of the government in our society. No one can do that officially except him,” saad ni Enrile.
