Naglabas ng pahayag ang Cronasia Foundation College, Inc. matapos mapansin ng American Drag Artist na si Trixie Mattel ang larawan nitong ginamit ng nasabing paaralan.

Itinampok kasi ng paaralan ang larawan ni Trixie sa infographic na nagpapaalala ng dapat at hindi dapat maging makeup ng mga estudyante sa kanilang graduation picture.

Kumalat sa iba’t ibang social media platform ang naturang infographics. In fact, nakita ito ni Trixie at nagbigay pa nga siya ng reaksiyon.

“A college is using my picture for this,” saad ni Trixie sa X.

Sabi naman niya sa Facebook, “Damn!”

Kaya nagbigay ng paglilinaw ang Cronasia hinggil sa nailatag nilang panuntunan sa graduation pictures ng kanilang mga estudyante.

“Our school, Cronasia Foundation College, Inc., acknowledges that the communication around the ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ for graduation pictures may have caused confusion and unintended frustration,” saad ng paaralan.

Bukod dito, humingi rin sila ng paumanhin kay Trixie at sa drag community.

“For this, we sincerely apologize to the people involved - Trixie Mattel and the Drag community, our students and our families,” anila.

Dagdag pa nila, “We also acknowledge that the use of certain words and punctuation was our fault. While we strive to ensure fairness and uphold the values of our institution, we recognize that the guidelines shared may not have been as clear or inclusive as they could have been.”

Bilang pagtutuwid, sinabi ng Cronasia na gagawin nila ang mga sumusunod na hakbang: 

1. We will revisit our current guidelines to ensure they are clear, inclusive and considerate of individual needs and preferences.

2. We will also improve our communication, as future communications will be shared more transparently and with ample opportunity for feedback.

Sa huli, tiniyak ng paaralan na mananatili ang pangako nilang ipagdiriwang ang tagumpay ng kanilang mga estudyante nang patas, inklusibo, at may dignidad.
