₱33.6-M ang halaga: 16 ambulansya, ipinamahagi ng DOH sa Ilocos Norte-Balita

Pinagkalooban ng Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Region ng 16 na ambulansya ang mga local government units (LGUs) sa unang distrito ng Ilocos Norte, nabatid nitong Huwebes.

Nabatid na kabilang sa mga recipients ng mga naturang land ambulances ay ang mga LGUs ng Addams, Pagudpud, Bangui, Dumalneg, Burgos, Pasuquin, Bacarra, Vintar, Sarrat, Piddig, Carasi at City of Laoag.

Tumanggap din ng mga ambulansya ang mga Barangay Poblacion sa Addams, San Lorenzo sa Bangui, Poblacion sa Burgos at Barquerzo sa Carasi.

Ayon sa DOH, ang naturang 16 land ambulances ay pawang fully-equipped at nagkakahalaga umano ng ₱33,600,000.

Samantala, inihayag naman ni Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco na ang mga emergency vehicles ay bahagi ng commitment ng DOH sa Universal Health Care na maging accessible sa lahat ng de kalidad na pangangalagang pangkalusugan.

“Transporting patients during emergencies will be faster and more efficient because these vehicles are equipped with complete and appropriate life-saving equipment and they are designed to comfortably accommodate a sick or injured patient. It also has enough space to allow easy movement of the medical care providers for the continuous care of the patient,” aniya.

Paalala pa niya sa mga LGUs, “use the ambulances for the purpose by which it was granted a license to operate, that is to respond to medical emergencies, provide quality care, and ensure patient safety, no more, no less.”

Nabatid na ang bawat land ambulances ay mayroong folding stretcher, nebulizer, portable suction machine, defibrillator, portable suction machine, examining light, aneroid sphygmomanometer, scoop stretcher, stethoscopes, non-contact thermometer, blood-glucose meter with strip, resuscitators for infant, pedia and adult; oxygen therapy set; laryngoscopes set; immobilization devices, delivery set at patient transfer monitor.

Ang mga ito ay pinondohan ng DOH Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) sa pamamagitan ng inisyatiba nina Congressman Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos III at Senator Juan Edgardo "Sonny" M. Angara, na ngayon ay kalihim na ng Department of Education.
