"I came short. I'm sorry, I apologize for it," nasabi ni EJ habang hindi na niya napigilan ang pagtulo ng luha.

"There's nothing to apologize, EJ. Thank you very much for taking time," pag-alo sa kaniya ng sports news reporter na nag-interview sa kaniya.

Goodbye PBA?

"We’re still VERY PROUD OF YOU, EJ! You have repeatedly made the Filipino people proud!!!"

"Your interview broke my heart brother. No need to apologize. Every single one of your Filipino countrymen is proud of you for all your achievements, and for marking the Filipino flag in a sport not many people think a Filipino could be good at. You have left your mark and we are so proud of you for bringing the entire country to the highest pedestal! Congratulations!"

"No, don’t apologize. Your performance today is far way better than Tokyo 2020 where you landed at 11th place. You’re still the no. 1 pole vaulter in Asia, EJ! Come back stronger for the LA 2028 Olympics! You’re still the best for all of us!"

"Sorry because you're worried that Filipinos might not be proud of you, yet EJ you showed so much courage to raise our FLAG and that's already a big VICTORIOUS to be Proud of. Thank you for representing our Country."

Mabuhay ka, EJ!
