Ibinahagi ng National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) ang nakuhanan nitong kamangha-manghang imahen ng Centaurus A galaxy.
Sa isang Instagram post, inihayag ng NASA na gabit ang kanilang Hubble Space Telescope astronomers, naobserbahan daw nila ang koneksyon sa pagitan ng “supermassive black holes” na may tidal disruption at ang pagsasanib ng mga galaxy.
“While most galaxies host a black hole, they are particularly quiet,” anang NASA.
“As seen in the picture above with Centaurus A galaxy, a tidal disruption event occurs when a star gets too close to a black hole causing the gravitational tides to rip away the stars gaseous matter.
“The gas will swirl into a disc around the black hole while the gas particles shoot out from opposite ends at the speed of light also known as high-speed jets,” saad pa nito.
Kamakailan lamang, nagbahagi rin ang NASA ng larawan ng dalawang galaxies na hugis penguin at itlog.
