Iginiit ni Gabriela Women's Party Rep. Arlene Brosas na isa umanong malaking inhustisya ang naging pagbasura ng Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office sa “grave threats” complaint na isinampa ni ACT Teachers Partylist Rep. France Castro laban kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
“His threats were broadcasted during a television show, and even circulated in social media, but the prosecutor's office chose to turn a blind eye,” pagbibigay-diin ni Brosas sa isang pahayag nitong Linggo, Enero 14.
Inihayag din ng mambabatas ang kaniyang pagkabahala dahil maaari umanong magdulot ang naturang desisyon ng korte ng mga kaso ng “red-tagging.”
“We are deeply concerned that this decision may establish a precedent for rabid redtaggers, suggesting that it is acceptable to intimidate and threaten the lives of human rights advocates,” saad ni Brosas.
‘Grave threats’ complaint ni Castro vs Duterte, ibinasura!
“But despite this, we will not be fazed. We will continue to stand with Rep. Castro and other activists as we amplify our call for justice and accountability,” dagdag pa niya.
Matatandaang napabalita nitong Biyernes, Enero 12, na ibinasura ng QC prosecutor ang grave threats complaint ni Castro laban kay Duterte dahil sa kawalan umano ng sapat na ebidensya.
Noong Oktubre 24, 2023 nang magsampa si Castro ng kasong kriminal laban kay Duterte dahil sa “death threats” umanong binitawan ng dating pangulo laban sa kaniya.

Ito ay kaugnay ng naging patutsada kamakailan ni Duterte kay Castro sa isang panayam ng SMNI, kung saan sinabi niyang gagamitin umano ng kaniyang anak na si Vice President Sara Duterte ang confidential at intelligence funds (CIF) ng tanggapan nito para sa Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) at upang ihinto umano ang communist insurgency sa bansa.
“Pero ang una mong target sa intelligence fund mo, ‘kayo, ikaw, France (Castro), kayong mga komunista ang gusto kong patayin,” ani Duterte kamakailan.

Samantala, sa kaniyang counter affidavit ay itinanggi ng dating pangulo ang mga akusasyon umano ng “grave threats” ni Castro.
“It bears emphasizing that none of the requisite elements of the crime charged are present considering that I made no actual threat whatsoever to complainant Castro. In the first subject episode [cited in the complaint], I was merely recounting the conversation I had with my daughter, anent the proposed confidential funds of the Office of the Vice-President and the Department of Education,” nakasaad sa counter affidavit ni Duterte na inulat ng GMA News.
