Nasa 400 senior citizens na nakakulong sa ilang piitan sa Puerto Princesa City sa Palawan ang posibleng makinabang sa social pension program ng pamahalaan.

Sa pahayag ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office-MIMAROPA, isinailalim na nila sa assessment ang mga nasabing preso sa tulong na rin ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) at City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) ng Puerto Princesa City.

“We, at the DSWD, stay true to our commitment to provide programs and services to the vulnerable and marginalized sector, including elderly PDLs. We conducted this process so we can establish a clean list of beneficiaries and ensure that our senior citizens are qualified for the social pension program,” paliwanag ni DSWD Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, co-spokesperson Irene Dumlao.

Ang mga nasabing preso ay nasa Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm Central Station, Inagawan Sub Colony, Montible Colony, at Sta Lucia Colony sa Puerto Princesa City.
