Apektado pa rin ng red tide ang ilang lugar sa Surigao del Sur at Surigao del Norte.
Ito ang babala ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) at sinabing kabilang sa mga nabanggit na lugar ang Lianga Bay sa Surigao del Sur at San Benito sa Surigao del Norte.

“The PSP or toxic red tide in shellfish collected and tested in said areas are beyond the regulatory limit,” anang BFAR.
Sinabi ng ahensya, hindi ligtas kainin ang lahat ng uri ng shellfish at Acetes sp (alamang) na nahahango sa mga apektadong coastal waters sa lugar.
"Fish, squids, shrimps and crabs are safe for human consumption provided they are fresh and washed thoroughly and the internal organs are removed before cooking," paliwanag pa ng BFAR.
