Viral sa social media ang post ng campus publication ng Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus (DMMMSU-SLUC) na “The College Forum” tampok ang kanilang “human AI newscaster."

“Meet Leah! The College Forum's first human AI newscaster who will bring real-time news and updates about the latest happenings in DMMMSU-SLUC. Through the initiative of TCF’s multimedia team, the publication now brings innovation to the broadcasting system of the University. Dubbed as ‘a revolutionary addition to the team’, this human AI newscaster, like any other artificial broadcasters, has the ability to broadcast like actual AI journalist,” caption ng The College Forum sa kanilang Facebook post.

Makikita naman sa kalakip na video, na umabot na sa mahigit 50,000 reactions, 4,700 shares at halos isang milyong views, ang tila totoong AI newscaster na nagre-report tungkol sa events ng kanilang unibersidad.

Ngunit sa huling bahagi ng video ay biglang nag-aktong natural ang kanilang newscaster, kung saan nagpapakitang hindi siya totoong AI, at pawang satirical lamang umano ang naturang content.

Nakalagay rin sa huling bahagi ng video ang: “Worried about AI taking our jobs? Why don’t we take theirs?”

Sa eksklusibong panayam ng Balita kay Jenfrey Benafin, associate editor ng The College Forum, ibinahagi niyang naisip nila ang naturang konsepto nang mag-apply raw sa kanila bilang multimedia reporter ang isang first year nursing student na animo’y kaboses ng isang AI broadcaster.

“It was just a passing thought between our associate editors. One of our applicants sounded like an AI broadcaster on the screening process and there we thought it might be nice to have her act as one to show our stance on the AI broadcaster issue through this video,” kuwento ni Benafin sa Balita.

“It was just a ‘what if?’ moment, so as journalists, we're overjoyed that our message resonated to many people and that we are staying true to our motto, ‘write for change’.”

“This is an affirmation that we are going the right direction and we hope to create more meaningful contents like this,” saad pa niya.
