Nasa 12 na ang inaresto dahil na rin sa nasabing paglabag, ayon kay Lt. Stephen Polinar, deputy chief ng Police Community Affairs and Development Unit ng Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.
Sa police report, ang tatlong suspek ay dinampot ng mga pulis sa Barangay Looc, kamakailan.
Paliwanag naman ni acting provincial election supervisor Eliseo Labaria, karamihan sa mga nagdadala ng baril ay nakalulusot dahil sa limitasyon sa checkpoint operations.
“Despite thousands of security forces deployed in Negros Oriental, it is still difficult for us to prevent people from carrying their firearms outside their homes because, during inspections at checkpoints, our law enforcers are only limited to doing their routine checks in plain view,” ani Labaria.
