Inanunsyo ng Albay provincial government na maaari nang umutang ang mga magsasaka mula sa mahigit na ₱156 milyong Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) upang mapalaki ang produksyon at kita ng mga ito.

Kasunod ito nang kumpirmasyon ni Albay Governor Edcel Grex Burce Lagman na nai-download na ang nasabing paunang pondo para sa Albay Agriculture Cooperative (AAC) mula sa ₱500 milyong target na maaaring utangin para sa lalawigan.

Paliwanag ng gobernador, nagbunga na ang halos ilang buwan nitong pagsusumikap upang mabigyan nito ng kaukulang suporta ang mga magsasaka at ang sektor ng agrikultura.

“The concerted effort exerted by yours truly as the Steering Committee Head as well as by APAO’s Mme. Che Rebeta, by the President of AAC Mr. Jose Obligacion and its technology partner Agrilever finally bore fruit with the actual release of the initial 156 million pesos to AAC,” aniya.

“Rest assured that the PGA (Provincial Government of Albay) will always put the interests of our rice farmers first. This is an unprecedented way in utilizing the RCEF. Albay is the pilot province for this project. We are just happy that all our hardwork for the past 3 1/2 months has paid off in the interest of the cooperative movement and that of our rice farmers," dagdag pa ng gobernador.
