Hinuli ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cagayan de Oro (CDO) ang isang container van na may kargang ₱48.8 milyong halaga ng mga pekeng items mula Bangladesh sa ikinasang operasyon sa Misamis Oriental kamakailan.
Sa social media post ng BOC, naglabas ng Pre-Lodgement Control Order (PLCO) si District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad laban sa kargamento matapos makatanggap ng intelligence report dahil sa posibleng paglabag sa Republic Act 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines in relation to Section 118 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act).
Nang inspeksyunin ng mga tauhan ng Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Services (CIIS), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), at Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. (CCBI) ang kargamentong nasa Mindanao Container Terminal sub-port sa Tagoloan sa Misamis Oriental, natuklasang naglalaman ito ng huwad na branded goods na kinabibilangan ng mga pantalon at t-shirt.
“These counterfeit products do not have the required documentation, and they endanger the safety of those who use them,” ayon sa pahayag ng BOC.
