“I’m one of those individuals who was first bullied that ‘she’s too skinny’ and now they bully me by saying ‘she’s fat’. I can’t eat wheat flour and many other things,” anang Indian beauty queen.
“Around 10-30% of the global population suffer from food allergies. I am having gluten allergy that is common and relatable to a major proportion of people worldwide which is manageable by just eliminating a few food groups from the diet,” paliwanag ni Harnaaz noong Abril.
“When you have celiac disease and consumegluten(a protein found in the grains wheat, barley, and rye), the gluten triggers your immune system to attack the lining of your small intestine, eventually eating away that lining in a process known asvillous atrophy. The condition often causes symptoms in your digestive system but can affect other parts of your body, too,” dagdag ng website.
“But why it happened right after the pageant? So meaning nag trigger lang dahil simula sya kumain after the pageant? That means its controlable. Sana ibigay nya nalang ke peru ang crown kesa ma bash sya everyday,” dagdag na unsolicited comment mula sa isa pang Pinoy netizens.
“I'm also gluten intolerant but I'm not sick coz I follow a gluten-free diet strictly, it's nothing new. You must just stay in charge of your food at all times because not everybody understands gluten-free foods. Is she allowing someone to feed her non-gluten-free foods?”
“You eat wheat flour after winning? You only get allergic after winning? You already knew the problem and you still eating? Then you better not win the crown for best shape.”
“Only herself knows it better only ppl with celiac disease experience it better. It's fine I don't think the contract term of MU did state that you are not allowed to be fat as a queen or giant ur weight... She still looks gorgeous ... We are human...should love and respect each other,” depensa ng isang fan sa parehong pageant page.
“You made your country proud and that's enough no more diets just be yourself and most of all as long as you did a great job in your advocacy I'm proud of you,” positibong komento ng isang fan.
“People just need to be kind because you don't know what's going on in people's lives. She's beautiful.”
“So many stupid comments here. A lot of women in this generation are suffering from PCOS and Celiac Disease.”
“I was really disheartened people bashing me for my weight gain but I didn’t let them describe me. There are young girls, like seven, six-year-old girls and even boys, looking up to me and if they see me being timid; if they see me being not strong enough, I don’t think that would be the right way to be that impactful person or inspire them,” ani Harnaaz gayunpaman.
“I want to tell them that inspiration starts within you. If you inspire yourself that’s how you can inspire a lot of people,” dagdag niya.
“I think it’s really unfortunate that the public still finds the need to tear women down in that way. We’re campaigning so hard that beauty queen or titles or Miss Universe should be more than an image,” nalulungkot na saad ni Catriona sa isang panayam.
