Ayon sa latest Instagram post ni Mega, lumipad siya patungong New York upang makita ang kaibigan. Nakausap at nakasama pa umano niya ang kaibigan bago ito panawan ng hininga at tuluyang magpaalam sa mundong ibabaw.

Kalakip ng kaniyang IG post ang litrato nila ni Cherie, na nakaratay sa hospital bed. Hindi na ipinakita ang mukha nito, kundi ang kanang kamay lamang habang sapo ng Megastar, Kita naman sa mukha ni Sharon ang pag-iyak.
Sa kanilang pag-uusap ay tila nagpahiwatig na raw ng pamamaalam si Cherie.

Sa isa pang hiwalay na Facebook post ay ibinahagi ni Sharon ang isang clip mula sa iconic scene ng Bituing Walang Ningning kung saan gumanap siyang Dorina Pineda. Binuhusan siya ng tubig sa mukha ni "Lavinia Arguelles" at binigkas ang iconic lines na "You're nothing, but a second rate, trying hard, copycat!"
"The Industry has lost one of the very best actors it has ever produced. I have lost a part of myself no one can ever replace," ani Mega.

Matatandaang noong Pebrero, nagulantang ang lahat nang magpakalbo si Cherie at ibenta umano ang kaniyang mga ari-arian, at namuhay na lamang sa ibang bansa. Naitampok pa siya sa isang lifestyle magazine. Ang pagpapakalbo umano ay simbolo ng kaniyang "rebirth".
