Si Azurin na graduate ngPhilippine Military Academy (‘Makatao’ Class of 1989) ay kasalukuyang hepe ng Northern Luzon Police Area na binubuo ngIlocos (Region 1), Cagayan Valley (Region 2), Central Luzon (Region 3) at Cordillera Administrative Region.
Naging commander din ito ngSouthern Luzon Police Area na sumasaklaw ng Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) - Region 4-A, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) – Region 4-B, at Bicol (Region 5).
Pinili ng Santo Papa: Rector ng Quiapo Church, bagong obispo ng Diocese of Balanga
Dati ring hepe ng Maritime Group si Azurin at naging Police Regional Office 1 director.
Papalitan ni Azurin si PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao, Jr..
Nangako naman ang PNP na ibibigay nila ang buong suporta sa liderato ni Azurin.
