BUTUAN CITY - Nangako ang itinalagang bagong commander ng 30th Infantry Battalion (IB) ng Philippine Army (PA) na lilipulin niya ang mga rebelde sa Surigao del Norte at Dinagat Islands.
Ayon kay Lt. Col. Jerold Jale, ipagpapatuloy niya ang pagtugis at paglansag sa mga natitirang kaanib ng New People's Army (NPA) sa mga nasabing lugar.
“We will decisively engage and destroy the remaining communist members so that these provinces will have a long-lasting peace. We will also continue our active support to the local government units and the line agencies, especially in the delivery of basic services in communities,” paniniyak ni Jale.
Pinalitan ni Jale sa puwesto si Lt. Col. Ryan Charles Callanta sa isang simpleng change of command ceremony sa headquarters ng military unit sa Barangay Mahanud, Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte nitong Hunyo 17.
