Iminungkahi ng Department of Agriculture sa mga magsasaka na anihin na ang kanilang mga tanim bago pa ito masalanta ng Bagyong Bising.
Ayon kay DA Secretary William Dar, panawagan ito sa mga magsasaka upang hindi malugi kapag masalanta lamang ng bagyo.
“We therefore advise our farmers in Bicol and Eastern Visayas that may be affected by typhoon Bising to harvest their crops, whenever possible,” sinabi ni Dar.
“We also urge fishermen near the typhoon’s path to take precautionary measures and refrain from fishing as conditions may worsen as ‘Bising’ nears,” dagdag niya.
Inihayag naman ni DA Eastern Visayas Director Angel Enriquez, kasalukuyang may 125,000 hectares ng bigas ang nasareproductive stage (62,972 ha) at nasa maturity stage naman ang 62,902 ektarya.
Inatasan na rin ang DA regional directors sa Eastern Visayas, Bicol,at Northern Mindanao na bantayan ang kani-kanilang regional disaster risk reduction and management teams na agad rumesponde.
