Go-signal na lamang ang hinihintay ni Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. sa paghahain ng diplomatic protest laban sa China kasunod nang namataang 220 Chinese vessels sa West Philippine Sea (WPS), kamakailan.
Sa sunud-sunod na tweet ni Locsin, nanindigan ito na aaksyon lamang ito kapag may pasabi na sina National Security Adviser Hermogenes at Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana at hindi sa ulat ng media.
“Still waiting for the orders to fire. I only listen to Generals; never media or an NTF (National Task Force) press release which amounts to nothing. Only a shot from DFA counts. Waiting for the coordinates and the order to fire, Generals Esperon and Lorenzana. I fire even on a Sunday,” aniya.

Nitong Sabado, nagapahayag nang pagkabahala ang National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) sa nakumpirmang report ng Philippine Coast Guard kaugnay ng namataang 220 na barko ng China sa Julian Felipe Reef (Whitsun Reef) na nasa Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) ng Pilipinas, nitong Marso 7.
“The NTF-WPS notes the circumstances as a concern due to the possible overfishing and destruction of the marine environment, as well as risks to the safety of navigation,” ayon sa kanya.
Binale-wala rin ni Locsin ang press release ng NTF-WPS at sinabing isa lamang itong “fairies warning” dahil siya at si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte lamang ang pinapahintulutang maghain ng protesta kapag sinabi nina Esperon at Lorenzana.
Nilikha ang NTF-WPS alinsunod sa Memorandum Circular No. 94 na pinirmahan noong Marso 17, 2016 apat na buwan bago ilabas ang ruling ng Arbitral Tribunal sa The Hague na pumapabor sa petisyon ng Pilipinas at nagbabasura sa expansive claims ng China sa South China Sea
