Nanawagan si Pangulong Rodrigio Duterte sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na ituloy lamang ang paninilbihan sa taumbayan, lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Sa kanyang mensahe sa nakaraang pagdiriwang ng ika-70 anibersaryo ng DSWD, pinahalagahan nito ang dedikasyon at sipag ng mga tauhan ng ahensya sa paglaban sa kahirapan at kagutuman sa bansa at hinikayat ang mga ito na panatilihin ang kanilang gawain.
“For seven decades, the DSWD has been in the forefront of efforts in looking after the welfare of our people especially the marginalized and most in need. Your unyielding commitment to various social development programs that help alleviate poverty, hunger, and inequality especially during this pandemic is truly noteworthy,” aniya.
