Isang kongresista ang nananawagan ng panibagong imbestigasyon sa ABS-CBN Corporation kahit sarado na ito, dahil sa resumption ng araw-araw na programa nito sa pamamagitan ng isang kasunduan sa lisensiyadong television station, ang ZOE Broadcasting Network na pag-aari ni Deputy Speaker Eddie Villanueva ng CIBAC Party-list.

Paliwanag ni House Minority Leader Joseph Stephen Paduano, hiniling na nito sa National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) at Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), na siyasatin ang blocktime agreement ng ABS-CBN sa ZOE dahil sa posibleng legal at tax issues matapos na ang mga shows o palabas nito ay bumalik sa pamamagitan ng free TV noong Oktubre 10.

“There is a legal issue about it. Let’s just see what will happen there,” ayon kay Paduano ng Abang Lingkod Rarty-list.

Siya ngayon ang lider 23-miyembro ng Minority bloc sa Kamara matapos mag-resign si Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante at umanib sa super majority ni Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.

“Let the NTC do the study or investigation on that matter. Then NTC will recommend it to Congress, to the committee on franchise, and the committee will act on it. We also have the responsibility and the right to investigate it,” ayon kay Paduano.

Bukod aniya sa legal matters tungkol sa blocktime deal ng ABS-CBN sa ZOE TV, dapat umanong tingnan ng BIR ang implikasyon nito sapagkat ang “ZOE TV ay exempted sa pagbabayad ng buwis dahil isa itong religious broadcasting entity.”
