Malapit nang pasisinayaan ng National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) sa publiko ang mga na-restore na simbahan ng Bohol sa pagsisimula ng 2021, na nawasak ng isang 7.2 magnitude na lindol noong 2013.

Noong Huwebes, ginunita ng National Museum Bohol ang ika-7 anibersaryo ng trahedya noong Oktubre 15, 2013, kasabay ang pagbibigay ng development kaugnay ang restoration ng nawasak na National Cultural Treasures.

“We remember how the 7.2 magnitude earthquake toppled down well loved and iconic structures in Bohol. With the large-scale rehabilitation and rebuilding spearheaded by the National Museum of the Philippines, National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and National Commission for Culture and the Arts, we now see the churches rising up from the rubble, a testament of Boholano faith and resilience,” sinabi ng National Museum Bohol.

Tatlong simbahan ng Bohol, partikular, ang Loboc Church Complex, Loon Church Complex, at Maribojoc Church Complex, ang sumasailalim pa rin sa restoration at muling pagtatayo. Inaasahang makukumpleto ang proyekto sa unang bahagi ng 2021.

Habang ang iba pang mahahalagang cultural properties na-restore at na-turnover ng NMP, ay kinabibilangan ng Cortes Church Complex (NCT), Dimiao Church Complex (NCT), Panglao Church Complex (ICP), Alburquerque Church Complex (ICP), Punta Cruz Watchtower (NCT), Balilihan Watchtower (NCT), Loay Watchtower (NCT), Panglao Watchtower (NCT), Inang-angan Stone Stairways (NCT), Maribojoc Stone Stairways (NCT), Old Panglao Municipio (ICP), at Old Bohol Provincial Capitol (ICP) at ngayon ay na -convert na sa National Museum Bohol.

Bukod sa pagguho ng mga simbahang pamana ng lalawigan, ang trahedya ay nagdulot din ng malaking pinsala sa iba pang mga gusali at naiulat ang stampede sa Bohol at Cebu.

Mahigit sa 200 katao ang kumpirmadong namatay.

“From the devastating earthquake, and now the life-threatening pandemic, the Boholanos have patiently endured, persevered and risen up. These challenging times turn to deepen and strengthen our inherent faith once more,” sinabi ng NBM.
