Kinumpirma na ni Carlito Galvez, Jr. ang pagbibitiw niya bilang kalihim sa Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU).

Sa latest Facebook post ng OPAPRU nitong Martes, Abril 21, sinabi ni Galvez, Jr. ang rason sa likod ng kaniyang resignation.
“This decision is borne of personal necessity to attend to the health of my wife, and to devote myself to my family–a commitment that is, perhaps, long overdue,” saad ni Galvez, Jr.
Ayon sa kaniya, ang paglilingkod umano niya sa sambayanang Pilipino ang itinuturing niyang pinakamalaking karangalan sa kaniyang buhay.

Matatandaang matapos magsilbing ika-50 Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), naglingkod naman si Galvez, Jr. bilang Presidential Peace Adviser, Chief Implementer ng National Task Force Against Covid-19, Vaccine Czar, at Officer-in-Charge ng Department of National Defense (DND).
Nakatakdang humalili kay Galvez, Jr. si Mel Sarmiento para sa binakante niyang puwesto.
