For his blind audition, Prelligera put his own spin on the often-performed i, an original song by Juan Karlos.
It only took half a second into the song’s first chorus for all of the coaches, including Sarah, who was not part of the show when Prelligera first joined, to turn their chairs for him.
Bamboo praised Prelligera for his unique take on Buwan.
Pero Prelligera, pero eventually ay pinili nito si Leaas his coach, after the Broadway star pointed out the massive improvement in the way he performed.
“Now there’s swag, there’s confidence in how you command [attention] and look at the audience,” sabi ni Lea.
Prelligera is just one of the two new recruits Salonga managed to get on Saturday’s episode of the talent search.
He joins John Rey Custodio, also 11, as part of “FamiLea.”
Custodio sang Janine Teñoso’s Di Na Muli and Salonga said that she trusted her gut feeling when she turned for him.
