“This is not the time para pagbanggain ang isa’t isa. We are lucky to have these SPACES to showcase our homegrown films, mapa-indie man o mainstream.
“Other countries in Southeast Asia are struggling to keep theirs. We should celebrate these opportunities because despite the challenges we are facing now, we still have a very active film industry. At the end of the day, lahat ito ay pelikulang Pilipino.
“Para naman sa mga local producers natin, let’s do our best to preserve these spaces. Let’s not take our audience for granted. Do not underestimate their tastes. We are part of a global market, and the exposure of our audiences is also global.
“Our local films are inevitably competing with foreign films, and that will not change. Let’s continue to strive to raise the bar.
“And to our audience, who in the past 100 years have shown their unwavering support for Philippine cinema, don’t lose hope in our local film industry.
We promise to work harder to give you the best that Philippine cinema has to offer.
“As your government partner, we are finding ways to bridge the gaps, address the needs and create a more sustainable environment for the film industry. It isn’t going to happen overnight, but we are not going anywhere, and we hope that you aren’t too. Let’s do this!”
