MAGHAPONG masama ang pakiramdam ni Kris Aquino nitong Lunes dahil sa gastroenteritis kaya palaisipan sa staff ng KCA Productions kung dadalo ang kanilang lady boss sa People of the Year awarding rites sa grand ballroom ng Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila kinagabihan.

Ang nasabing parangal ay taunang ibinibigay ng People Asia magazine sa natatanging mga personalidad na nagsikap para maabot ang kanilang mga pangarap at kilala o nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa iba’t ibang industriya o public service.

Sabi nga ng People Asia publisher, president at CEO na si Ginoong Babe Romualdez, “Our annual People of the Year awards is a tradition we started 12 years ago to recognize and honor these exceptional men and women whose achievements not only encourage but empower.”

Isa si Kris Aquino sa pinarangalan ng People Asia at ginawa pang cover ng special December-January 2018 issue ng magazine.

Bandang alas singko ng hapon nakaramdam ng ginhawa ang Queen of Online World and Social Media kaya bumangon at nagbihis para dumalo sa gabi ng parangal.

Biro nga ni Bossing DMB sa nakitang litrato ng mga staff ng KCAP na pawang nakaporma, “Kung ganyan ba namang nakabihis na ang staff, eh, mapapabangon talaga ang boss!”

Kaya bandang alas sais ng gabi, nalaman namin sa mabait na staff ni Kris na si Jack Salvador, binabaybay na ng Team KCAP ang daan patungong Sofitel.

Pagdating sa event ay agad pinagkaguluhan ng media si Kris habang hinihintay na tawagin siya para tanggapin ang award.

Suot niya ang yellow gown na gawa ni Roland Mouret at si Bimby naman ay naka-Barong Tagalog na gawa naman ni Bang Pineda.

Bandang alas nuwebe ng gabi, pagkatapos ng awarding ceremony, nag-post si Kris ng photo nila ni Bimby, na nakakamiseta na lang, habang pauwi na sila.

“Headed home -- they are just buying take out because nobody has eaten yet. With no heels -- this is our true height disparity (halos magkasing taas na sila ni Bimby).

“Tonight -- I forced myself to go to Sofitel for @peopleasia #peopleasia2017 awarding ceremony because it was my way of showing all of you that NOT GIVING UP is what makes you a winner.

“I distinctly recall a meeting, in all fairness a very well-meaning one -- meant to help me get back on track during the 4th quarter of 2016 -- and 1 of the “suggestions” given to me was to refrain from wearing yellow. Well, as you probably all know I like marching to the beat of my own drum. PINK has always been my favorite color -- but I wore a yellow @roland_mouret gown tonight because the fact is -- tonight’s recognition happened because KCAP & I did it our way.

“We had no choice but to be outliers & disruptors. We had no recourse but to have the courage to take a risk, and guess what, the AUTHENTICITY is working. And I owe all this to you, the online community that has welcomed me when traditional broadcast media felt they no longer wanted nor needed me. So, tonight is just me never getting tired of saying THANK YOU & I shall continue striving to be worthy of all the opportunities you have generously embraced me with. #lovelovelove.”

Bandang ala-una ng madaling araw ng Martes ay may kuha si Kris na umiinom ng gamot habang tulog na ang mga anak niyang sina Josh at Bimb.

“I told my 2 that they didn’t have to keep me company tonight because my fever’s still 38.2. Took my 1,000 mg of vitamin C & took Neozep Forte (sorry BioFlu but Neozep seems more effective for me).

“Diffusing lavender, eucalyptus, frankincense, and tea tree essential oils (I read up & they are supposed to give my immunity a boost.) Kuya & Bimb are the sweetest they drank their vitamins & said they just want to make me bantay (Bincai’s also with us & I also made her take vitamins to be sure.)

“We had shoots tomorrow BUT that’s the problem when you’re both the host & producer, I take the financial loss because it’s better to REST & lose a day than force myself to work & possibly lose the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday shoots. I appreciate my KCAP Team & my KCA Food Team, they promised to give me total peace to just sleep & recuperate tomorrow.

“Tonight was very special, but the accolade is more meaningful because God blessed me with sons who really LOVE me & co-workers who care for me and made me feel they are all proud of me. Yes, my body feels really weak but my spirit & heart feel strong!
