ITINANGGI ng dating asawa ni Mel B na si Stephen Belafonte ang mga alegasyon ng America’s Got Talent judge na pisikal at emosyonal niya itong inabuso sa loob ng halos 10-taong pagsasama nila bilang mag-asawa.

Nabigyan si Mel B, Melanie Brown ang tunay na pangalan, ng restraining order laban kay Belafonte nitong Lunes. Sa court papers na nakuha ng ET, sinabi ni Mel B na natatakot siya sa kanyang seguridad at sa kanyang mga anak -- ang limang taong gulang na si Madison, anak nila ni Belafonte, pati na rin ang kanyang dalawang anak na babae na sina Phoenix at Angel mula sa dating relasyon. Hindi pa rin tumutugon ang 41-anyos na si Brown sa ET para magkomento tungkol dito.

“What matters most to Mr. Belafonte is the safety and well-being of his daughters and step-daughters,” saad sa pahayag ng mga abogado ni Belafonte sa ET nitong Miyerkules. “It’s a shame that Ms. Brown elected not to proceed in a respectful and amicable fashion in this very private matter. In due course, Mr. Belafonte will be filing his response to the outrageous and unfounded allegations made by Ms. Brown, which allegations he vehemently denies.”

“When the Court determines the truth, it will become clear that this entire charade was nothing more than a smear campaign intended to cover up Ms. Brown’s own conduct during the marriage in light of her current involvement with a family television show, and in an effort to unfairly gain leverage both financially and with respect to custody of the children,” sabi pa sa pahayag. “When the degree to which Ms. Brown has gone to create a false depiction of her marriage to Mr. Belafonte is uncovered, real victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse will be understandably offended, angry and upset.”

Sinabi rin ng mga abogado ni Belafote na ang kanilang kliyente ay “confident that the truth will come out,” at humingi ng privacy para sa kanya at kanyang mga anak sa gitna ng “challenging time.”

“Mr. Belafonte is confident that the truth will come out when he has his day in court at which time he looks forward to being reunited with his children,” saad sa pahayag.

Nitong Lunes, ipinag-utos ng hukom ang agarang pag-alis ni Belafonte, 41, sa kanilang tahanan sa Hollywood Hills, California at lumayo ng 100 yards mula kina Brown at tatlo niyang anak hanggang sa susunod na hearing sa Abril 24.

Ibinigay din kay Brown ang legal at physical custody kay Madison, at hindi napahintulutan ng korte si Belafonte ng visitation. (ET Online)
