Pinaalalahanan ng Catholic Church leader ang mga mananampalataya na ang panahon ng Kuwaresma ay isang imbitasyon upang makipag-ayos sa Panginoon para sa matiwasay at makahulugang buhay.

“The Gospel for today’s observance of the Third Sunday of Lent narrates Jesus’ request to the Samaritan woman to give Him a drink (John 4,7). Jesus is asking her to return her life to God, to reconcile herself to God and so too, must we,” ayon kay Balanga Bishop Ruperto C. Santos.

“Water is life. Water is nourishment. It is for cleaning. And so, symbolically, Jesus was telling the woman to be sorry for her sins, for her dark past life. Jesus, in effect, is inviting her to surrender herself to God, to renounce her secrets. And Jesus will renew her, will refresh her tired soul. As water is used for cleansing and washing, Jesus will purify our intentions and desires,” diin ng head ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Itinerant People.
