Inaabangan sa state visit ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa China, sa Oktubre 18 hanggang 22, ang paghaharap nila ni Chinese President Xi Jinping at pagdalaw niya sa law enforcement at drug rehabilitation centers roon.

Inaasahan na makabubuo ang dalawang lider ng cooperation agreements para mapalawak ang bilateral at economic relations ng Pilipinas at China, ayon kay Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Charles Jose.

“Following the meeting, President Duterte and President Xi are scheduled to witness the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding and agreement on various fields of cooperation between the two countries,” lahad ni Jose sa news conference sa Palasyo.

Hindi sesentro ang mga pag-uusap sa iringan sa South China Sea.

“We can deal with it separately but, at the same time, we would like to develop and strengthen our other areas of cooperation with China including trade, investment, tourism, people-to-people exchanges so I think that’s exactly what we are doing now with the President’s visit to China,” aniya.

“It’s not final yet but I think the purpose is to, for the President to see for himself ‘no how China is also addressing this drug problem and also the fact that China is also assisting us as far as rehabilitation and law enforcement,” ani Jose.

Liligawan ng Pangulo ang mga negosyanteng Chinese, makikipagpulong kay National People’s Congress Chairman Zhang Dejiang at Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, at kukumustahin ang Filipino community sa China. (GENALYN D. KABILING)
