“Because of the reforms that have been put in place, the handling of government funds and the existence of GOCCs [are] really dependent on performance,” aniya.

“What is the proof of the performance? Under the Aquino administration, the life of the SSS, the life of the funds has been extended by three years. So that’s a concrete proof of both prudent management and achievement,” paliwanag pa ni Quezon.

“I think it’s a basic principle of modern government… Remember these are government funds that are in the billions of pesos and that, therefore, there should be an incentive for people to not only do their job well but to do it honestly,” aniya pa.

“I believe that the SSS can prove that they have performed in this level. Now, of course, it’s not good to hear because of course that doesn’t really address the disappointment, let’s say, of our senior citizens. But, again, I believe that if we all commit and help the government to ensure that everyone is paying their due, we would be able to speed up the increase,” sabi ni Quezon.
