“It’s difficult, it’s really difficult, but I have to be strong. In time, I know maaayos din,” sabi ni Derek.
Nagkita na uli at nakapag-bonding na sila ng kanyang anak na si Austin na 11 years old na ngayon.
“Yes, not enough, even though it’s in the contract na I have my visitation rights, she (Christine Joy) didn’t allow me to exercise my visitation rights, I only saw him four times in three years,” pagtatapat ni Derek.
“The thing is pabagu-bago ang ano nila, hindi ko na maintindihan, lagi na lang nababago, so the first affidavit, emotional and financial, their reply affidavit, I’m a rapist.
“Kaya ako nagpunta do’n kasi nalaman kong nandoon ang anak ko, hindi naman ako required to be there on that day, I found out that my son is there, so I wanna see him, I haven’t seen him in months.”
“I don’t believe that he wrote that, but I asked my son kung siya ang nagsulat no’n and you meant it, and when he said ‘yes’ I kept my mouth shut for the rest of the meeting. So sabi ko, ano pa ang magagawa natin para maayos na ‘to? Wala akong pakialam linisin pangalan ko, wala akong pakialam sa career ko, I just want to spend time with my son,” aniya.
“That was the fifth time I see my boy, my son in three years. So the fifth time in three years, hindi ko alam ang sasabihin ko, kung ano ang experience that he had to see,” say ng aktor.
Noong huli silang magkita, “He calls me dad and he said the last time we saw each other was the best time of his life. I asked him about it during the meeting, he said, ‘no, I didn’t call you dad, I hate you’.”
“I don’t want to say anything about that. I’m not into anything negative about the mom,” sangga ni Derek.
“Forty-five million, 48 million I don’t care about what she’s asking for,” say ng aktor.
Wala raw nilabag si Derek sa mga utos ng fiscal na hindi siya puwedeng magpa-interview sa media, na kabaligtaran naman ng ginawa ni Christine Joy dahil, “Sila ‘yung nagpa-presscon, sila nag-release ng affidavit online, my son’s letter online, she handed out the letter to everybody at the presscon. It’s hard to believe that my son read overnight online and wrote a letter.”
“Definitely, I want to spend time with my son, I’ll do whatever it takes.”
“I want him to look at me the way I look at my father, that kind of relationship I want,” malungkot na sagot ng TV host/actor.
“I was very cooperative when I found out that he is my son, I immediately asked what is best for my son, we have a contract, they’re the ones who drafted the contract, they’re the ones who authorized the contract and everything is going smooth then, but here we are,” kuwento ni Derek.
“I just told my boy that I promise you that we will spend more time with each other, you’ll understand everything what’s going on when you grow up, please don’t close your door on me, that’s all I’m asking you.”
“My affidavit has all the deposit slips, all the emails, all text messages that came from them. I want to be peaceful with her, I really do, for the sake of my son,” malungkot na sabi niya.
“Why did they do that, for what reason? I’ve given up so many times to her demands, I think it’s about time that l fight.”
