Kinilala ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang naging buhay ng bayaning si Dr. Jose Rizal, kasunod ang panawagan nito sa mga kabataan na isabuhay ang bayani para sa “responsible citizenship.”
Sa ibinahaging social media post ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) nitong Martes, Disyembre 30, mababasang nakikiisa si PBBM sa pagdiriwang ng ika-129 anibersaryo ng pagkabayani at pagkamatay ni Rizal.
“I join the entire Filipino nation in commemorating Rizal Day,” panimula ni PBBM.
Saad pa niya, “Through his writings and martyrdom, Dr. Jose Rizal awakened our sense of identity and showed that Filipinos deserve dignity, freedom, and the power to determine their own future. His example gave our forebears an ideal model of what it means to be truly Filipino and a confident vision of a nation ready to stand as an equal among others.”
Kinikilala rin ng Pangulo ang buhay ng bayani, na siyang nagbibigay umano ng gabay at lakas sa bawat Pilipino.
“Today, as Filipinos demand integrity and accountability from its leaders, we look up to his life to provide us with guidance and strength. Let our celebration deepen our resolve to live by the values he embodied: love of country, respect for truth, a tireless pursuit of just reform, and the courage to speak and act for what is right,” aniya.
“May this commemoration inspire every Filipino—especially the youth, whom Rizal so dearly cherised—to pair patriotism with responsible citizenship so that we can be of better service to the country,” dagdag pa niya. “Across all spheres in life, both public and private, may we allow Rizal’s principles to guide the way we live and work for our nation so that in whatever we do, we always choose compassion over indifference and country over personal interests.”
Hiniling niya rin ang pagbuo ng isang bansang kinikilala ang hustisya at kapayapaang dinala ni Rizal sa bansa.
“Let us build a nation where the justice he fought for is realized in the everyday lives of all Filipinos. For in every act of integrity and every stand for truth, we keep Dr. Rizal’s dreams alive and bring our shared vision of a Bagong Pilipinas closer to reality,” anang pangulo.
“I wish all Filipinos a meaningful and reflective Rizal Day,” pagtatapos niya.
