Nagsalita ang Malacañang hinggil sa alegasyon ng ilang foreign media na ang Pilipinas daw ay isang “ISIS training hotspot” at “terror hotspot.”
Kaugnay ito sa pag-atake ng mag-amang suspek sa isang Jewish event sa Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia kamakailan.

Sa isinagawang press briefing ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) nitong Miyerkules, Disyembre 17, sinabi ni Palace Press Officer at PCO Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro na mariing pinabubulaanan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang mga naturang alegasyon.
“Of course, the President strongly rejects the sweeping statement and the misleading characterization of the Philippines as the ISIS training hotspot,” saad ni Castro.
Aniya pa, nakausap ng Palasyo ang National Security Council (NSC) patungkol sa isyu, kung saan inilahad din nito na “misleading” ang mga binitawang pahayag ng ilang foreign media.
“Regarding reports describing the Philippines as an ISIS hotspot, the characterization is misleading. Currently, there is no validated report or confirmation that the individuals involved in the Bondi Beach incident received any form of training in the Philippines,” anang NSC.
“Philippine authorities, in coordination with international partners, continue to verify all available information, but no evidence has been presented to support claims that the country was used for terrorist training,” dagdag pa nila.
Giniit din ng press officer ang mas reponsable at mas mapanuring pagpapahayag sapagkat ito raw ay nakaaapekto sa integridad at imahe ng bansa.
Iniulat ng Bureau of Immigration noong Martes, Disyembre 16, na nanggaling umano ang mga suspek sa Pilipinas bago pa man gawin ang naturang mass shooting.
