“It was 2011,” panimula ni Jake. “He was already around 90 years old then Seated close to him, I was casually flipping through my younger brother’s grade school history book. He noticed me and asked if he could take a look as I happened to be on the chapter about the Japanese invasion.”
“After reading a few lines, he quipped, ‘The date here is wrong.’ I looked at him, confused about how someone could dispute a history book. He then handed it back to me and said, ‘I know better— because I was there,’” pagpapatuloy niya.
Dagdag pa ng aktor, “A lot has been said and will be said about the man. But one thing’s for sure: he has found his own place in our history books, one that history itself will continue to examine. Paalam, Manong JPE.”
“Proof that people choose who to side with and would be blind if it comes to someone they are close with ” saad ng netizen.
Ngunit sagot ni Jake, “Since when did sharing an anecdote equate to choosing sides? Sometimes the ‘blindness’ we point out in others is just our own assumptions speaking.”
